New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods sweeps readers away with the story of a beloved member of the O'Brien family as she claims the life she's always dreamed of
Spirited, spontaneous Carrie Winters has grown up under the watchful eyes of not only her grandfather Mick O'Brien, but the entire town of Chesapeake Shores.
Now that she's home from Europe, a glamorous fashion career behind her and her heart broken, there seem to be far too many people watching to see if she'll live up to the expectations her family has for her.
As if that weren't enough pressure, Carrie finds herself drawn to sexy, grief-stricken Sam Winslow, who is yearning for someone to help him raise the nephew who's unexpectedly come into his life after a tragedy.
With her own life in turmoil, is Carrie really ready to take on a new career and a new man? Or is Sam exactly what she needs to create the strong, loving family she's always wanted?
Look for The Sweet Magnolias, another great series from Sherryl Woods and a Netflix Original Series!

Woods’s 12th Chesapeake Shores contemporary (after Dogwood Hill) is sweet and comforting. Now that Carrie Winters’s glamorous career and famous boyfriend are firmly in the past, she’s happy to be back together with her family in their small town on the Mid-Atlantic coast, even if she’s butting heads with her nosy grandfather and dealing with well-intentioned but gossipy relatives. To keep busy, she helps out by babysitting her little nephew, a task she loves. When her cousin Luke suggests she open a day care center, she takes the idea to heart. Carrie’s plan to stay away from men hits a glitch when she meets Sam, a good-looking newcomer to Chesapeake Shores who has suddenly become guardian to his nephew. As Carrie and Sam slowly get to know one another, sparks fly, but their individual insecurities take a toll on their relationship. The romance could use a bit more steam, but a nice array of secondary characters, including Carrie’s troubled aunt Susie and her prying grandfather Mick, keeps this pleasant plot going.

Woods (Dogwood Hill, 2015) continues the Chesapeake Shores series with another engaging tale about the O'Brien clan. Carrie Winters returns to her Maryland hometown to recuperate from her high-pressure fashion industry job in Europe as well as a devastating break-up. Now unemployed, she quickly assumes the role of child-care provider for her relatives, reinforcing her desire to settle down and start her own family. Sam Winslow moves to Chesapeake Shores to begin a new job. Becoming a family man isn't high on his list of priorities, but when his sister and her husband die unexpectedly, he becomes the guardian of his six-year-old nephew. Sam and Carrie are thrown together due to circumstance and the inevitable meddling of small-town neighbors. Woods' emotionally intense story of loss and love will appeal to a broad range of readers.(Reprinted with permission of Booklist, copyright 2015, American Library Association.)
