Brother and Sister beg Mama for a puppy; predictably, the dog is more work than they anticipated. The minimal story and cartoony illustrations are benign but only mildly entertaining. Reissued as part of the sixtieth anniversary of the I Can Read series, this edition includes eight appended pages of the series' history and background on beloved series characters.
