Lauren Weisberger's debut novel, The Devil Wears Prada, hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and was adapted into an Oscar-nominated movie starring Meryl Streep. Set eight years later, this sequel finds Andrea "Andy" Sachs running a wildly successful magazine with fellow ex-Runway assistant Emily. But Andy's world—including her upcoming nuptials—is about to spiral out of control. Miranda Priestly is back, and revenge is one thing this Devil does very, very well.

In this sequel to THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, narrator Megan Hilty offers a fitting characterization of Andy Sachs, a woman who seems to have the picture-perfect life: Andy's fiancé, Max, adores her, and she and her friend have a successful partnership as owners of a glitzy celebrity wedding publication. Hilty's cheery, youthful voice captures the dynamic protagonist but becomes more somber as Andy's insecurities surface and life offers her some surprises. These include the reappearance of her haughty ex-boss, Miranda Priestly, whom Hilty portrays with entertaining eccentricity. Hilty's fluidly modulated tones keep the listener engaged with Andy's sometimes tumultuous and drawn-out journey. M.F. (c) AudioFile 2013, Portland, Maine

Nearly a decade after The Devil Wears Prada, Weisberger revisits her heroine Andy Sachsâformer assistant to the vicious Miranda Priestly of Runway magazine. Now the editor of her own wildly successful bridal magazine, Andy is about to marry media mogul Max Harrison. Although all seems to be going well, a series of events catapult Andy back to her self-conscious Runway days. Her image-obsessed mother-in-law (whose over the top snobbery makes her nearly indistinguishable from Miranda) thinks Andy isn't good enough for Max, and her business partner Emily wants to sell their magazine to Elias-Clark, the publisher of Runway, which would make Andy once again a servant to Miranda. Weisberger adds many plot elements that put Andy and her lifetyle in jeopardyâand while the resolutions won't shockâAndy's character is what drives the book, after all- this sequel is a fun summer read.
